Rental policy

Amount due includes a daily/weekly dress rental fee/hair and makeup package fee and a refundable deposit. Please note that the rental is not confirmed until the outstanding amount is paid in full. The amount can be paid as an e-transfer to suzyqjewels@gmail.com.

The Renter will not be entitled to set-off or withhold payment of any amounts due in terms of this agreement for any reason whatsoever. In the event that the Renter returns the Dress to suzyqjewels before the end of the Rental Period, the Renter will not be reimbursed the difference in rates for the Rental Period and will be responsible for the price of the full Rental Period as agreed.

DRESS DELIVERY

The Dress is to be picked up the night before the scheduled photoshoot at the time convenient for both parties (can be discussed over texts/phone).

It is the Renter’s responsibility to inspect the Dress for Damages before delivery/pick-up. Any Damages that occur after the Renter has left the premises will be the responsibility of the Renter.

DRESS RETURN

The Dress has to be returned to the same address as the pickup the same night as the photoshoot. If the Dress is not returned in time, a $30.00/hour charge will be subtracted from the deposit.

Should the Dress not be returned as indicated above, the Dress will be reported as stolen to the relevant authorities.

The Dress shall be returned to Athena Dress Rental in the same condition as received, that being undamaged and in good, wearable condition. Ordinary wear and tear expected*.

* Ordinary Wear and Tear – the deterioration that results from the intended use of the Dress such as dust, leaves in fabric if used outside, faded fabric but does not include deterioration that results from negligence, carelessness, accident or abuse of the Dress and Accessories by the Renter, Wearer or any other party during the Rental Period.

DEPOSIT

A deposit is taken at the time of rental. Deposit is fully refundable upon Dress return assuming the Dress and Accessories are in a wearable condition, not stained and/or damaged.

The deposit will be returned after a thorough Dress inspection using the original payment method considering the conditions of rental were met.

DAMAGES

The dress has to be returned in a wearable condition, meaning clean to the point that it doesn’t have to be dry-cleaned after wear. If the dress is returned with visible staining of any kind – mud, dust, dirt streaks, grass stains, small water spots, etc, a charge of $150.00 CAD + HST will be subtracted from the deposit for dry cleaning purposes. If there is a lot of wet or muddy staining on the gown, a charge of $300.00 CAD + HST will be subtracted from the deposit.

If the Dress is Damaged or stained to the point where the estimated costs of repairs is such that the Dress is in the sole and absolute discretion of Suzyqjewels Rental uneconomical to repair in relation to the value of the Dress and condition of the Dress, for the time being, the Dress will be considered a Total Loss. The Renter agrees to cover the retail cost of the Dress within 30 days, in the amount specified.  

If any of the Accessories are Damaged or stained, the Renter agrees to cover the retail cost of such Accessories based on the outline below:

Belt – Varies

Corset String – $40.00 CAD

Petticoat – $50.00 CAD

Hanger – $10.00 CAD

Dress Case – $150.00 CAD

Safety Pins – $5.00 CAD

CARE

The Renter shall not launder and/or iron the Dress or Accessories due to the delicacy of the fabric. If refreshing is needed, the Renter may use a steamer at least 40cm away from the fabric to avoid damage. In case of accidental Damage of the Dress, the Renter will be responsible to cover a Total Loss cost of the Dress.

The use of pins is allowed when necessary with full awareness of the delicacy of the fabric. Pins can leave holes and tear the fabric, if not secured appropriately. The Renter shall be responsible for any damages inflicted upon the Dress when using the safety pins.

Please avoid the use of any and all perfumes (deodorant is ok). If the dress has a heavy perfume odour upon return, the deposit will not be returned as it will cover the cost of dry-cleaning of the gown.

It is NOT allowed for the dress to be taken in water of any kind. If the dress is returned wet or soaked, or there is evidence to suggest that the dress was in any kind of water, the deposit will not be returned.

It is not allowed to use smoke bombs in the vicinity of the dress. You are not allowed to smoke, have anyone smoke near the dress or be beside any sort of fire when wearing the dress! Sparks can be small and unnoticeable but can damage the fabric and leave burn marks. If there is evidence of any burn marks present on the dress, or staining from the smoke bombs, the client will be responsible for a total loss cost of the dress! 

CANCELLATIONS

There is no cancellation policy for the rental.

**In case of bad weather, the Renter has an option to reschedule the rental of the Dress for another date assuming the date is available for booking. If the date is not available for booking, any other day can be chosen instead. There are no refunds if the date cannot be rescheduled.

• The first reschedule is free of charge assuming the Renter notified Suzyqjewels Dress Rental of the change at least 48 hours in advance.
• All other reschedules are subject to a $50.00 fee.

First rescheduling is free. All additional reschedulings are subject to a $50.00 fee,

If the rental is canceled or rescheduled for any other reasons (sickness etc.) the renter has an option to reschedule the rental for a different date assuming that date is available. In the event of full cancellation, the rental price is non-refundable.
